- Cr(6)-free corrosion protection, approx. 500 h with no base metal corrosion (salt spray test as per DIN EN ISO 9227-NSS)
- AW recess system for better torque transmission, a longer service life and optimal centring
- Wing-tip pias screws must be appropriately tested for usability for each application. Only install using application tools with a depth stop and claw coupling.
- The maximum fixture length is calculated as follows: Wood thickness and substructure thickness lU = max. fixture thickness lB
- Self-drilling screws must be installed with a suitable drill/driver (e.g. cordless drill/driver with depth stop)
- The use of impact drivers is not permitted
- Self-drilling screws must be screwed in perpendicular to the surface of the component
Zinc plated self-drilling screws must only be used in locations where permanently damp conditions are not expected - condensation is not considered a permanently damp condition (corrosivity category ≤ C2 in accordance with DIN EN ISO 12944-2). For fasteners with technical approval, the approval, and in particular Part 2 "Special regulations", must always be observed.
For use with hard and soft woods
- Force feeding of the screw is prevented by the wings drilling out the wood
- The core hole is drilled into the substructure. The wings break off upon contact with the metal
- The first few turns of the screw cut the thread, the remainder of the screw then screws into the thread
