Butyl sealant is used in construction, automotive and metal industries. It adheres to all common materials and is ideal for low-movement joints with elongation up to 7%. Solids content 68%. This easy-to-use sealant is especially designed for concealed joints and can be painted over after approx. 24 hours if needed. Forms an elastic film when drying, remains uncured inside and can be reopened if necessary. Recommended for outdoor use only, not for indoor construction use. Commonly used in construction for sealing standing seam roofs and rain gutters. Also suitable for sealing concealed structures in caravans. During installation, the sealant must be applied between structures, not on top of seams (e.g. sheet metal seams). Butyl sealant provides a reliable and durable solution that ensures long-term joint tightness.
- Sealant that adheres to almost all materials.
- Construction, metal industry and vehicle manufacturing
- Not for indoor use.
- When drying, the sealant forms a dry surface film but remains uncured inside, therefore suitable for concealed structures.
Although the paste forms a film on the surface when it dries, the mass under the film does not dry out but remains soft.
Not recommended for applications such as toilet bowl installation or for the joints of its frame parts.
Very good sealant for installations that need to be easily opened again, or for areas where the seam remains completely hidden.
Surface sealing of the thermal insulation seam between the door / window frames and the frame (can be installed over insulation wool) before moulding.
Sealing the continuation / end seam of rain gutters.
Sealing the seams of ventilation pipes.
Suitable for many installations where you want the seam to remain elastic, i.e. easy to open again.
The surface must be: dry, clean, dust-free and grease-free.
Extrude the paste in the desired place and smooth the finished surface with a trowel dipped in soapy water, for example.
Stain removal with turpentine, immediately while fresh.
The minimum width of the seam is 5 mm.
The minimum width of the seam is 20 mm.
