Actuation of the foot locking device extends the step tread immediately and automatically secures it against inadvertent retraction when it is stepped on after reaching the entry position.
To retract the step tread, the foot locking device is actuated again and pushed back by applying force with the feet. The step tread is locked in the driving position automatically.
